Farmworker Reality Tours

One of our goals is to bridge the experiential and communication gap between the farmworker community and those of us who enjoy the fruits of their hard labor.

Farmworker housing is typically located in remote areas far from cities and towns, thereby rendering farmworkers invisible to the general public. Farmworker Reality Tours correct this disconnect by allowing participants to meet, dialogue with, and hear the testimonials of farmworkers.

The tours challenge participants to better understand the conditions of farmworkers by sharing in their lives, food, and living quarters.

Dr. Ann Lopez will be speaking at the Santa Teresa Catholic Church in San Jose about the work of Center for Farmworker Families.

On Saturday, April 29, 2017 Come enjoy the Holy Spirit Potluck – Social Action Ministries “SAM”in the Hall at 11:30am and stay to see a special presentation at 1:30pm with guest speakers, Dr. Ann Lopez, Ph.D., from Center for Farmworkers Family and Claire Collins from Catholic Charities Refugee Foster Care Program.

We welcome everyone to hear first-hand about these two very important causes. You will have an opportunity to ask questions and watch a short film by Deacon Steve regarding his recent trip to Watsonville with the farmworkers.
